No, you do not need a prescription to purchase the Provale Cup however it is best to have a swallow test conducted by your physician or Speech-Language Pathologist to determine the appropriate size for your needs. The Provale Cup is available in both a 5cc and 10cc size.

Is the Provale Cup covered by insurance or Medicare?

No, it is not covered. With this in mind, we work hard to keep the cup affordable for our customers.

Can the Provale Cup be used for nectar thickened liquids?

No, the Provale Cup is only recommended for thin liquids.

Can hot liquids be used in the Provale Cup?

Avoid putting liquids in the Provale Cup that may be hot enough to injure users.

Is the Provale Cup dishwasher safe?

Yes. Be sure to separate the lid and mid cup from the outer cup and place each piece in the top rack of the dishwasher.

Is the Provale Cup “spill proof” like a child’s sippy cup?

No. The Provale Cup is designed to limit the flow of liquid to prevent choking or aspiration. If the cup is tilted backwards toward the vent hole, knocked over or not in an upright position, it will result in leakage of liquid.

How much liquid does the Provale Cup hold?

Each cup holds 8 ounces of fluid. Please be sure to keep liquid at or below the fill line.
